Breakfast Suggestions

  • The main wedding hotel, the Holiday Inn in Covington, has a daily breakfast buffet.
  • There is an International House of Pancakes (IHOP) about 1/2 block south of the Holiday Inn and a Waffle House just north of the Holiday Inn.
  • Mande's restaurant is a local favorite and is located at 340 Causeway Blvd, Mandeville, LA.

Lunch Suggestions

Area Attractions-North Shore of Lake Ponchartrain (Mandeville, Covington, Abita Springs):

  • Abita UCM Museum - Billed as "Louisiana's Most Eccentric Museum" they are open daily from 10-5 and are located at 22275 Hwy 36, Abita Springs, LA 70420.  Ph: 985-892-2624.
  • Downtown Covington – Here you’ll find many small shops, restaurants, and antique stores (head to Boston St., Covington).
  • Insta-Gator Hatchery  – You can amuse yourself at this alligator ranch and hatchery (23440 Lowe Davis Rd., Covington).
  • Abita Springs Brewery Tour  – The brewery offers tours on Saturdays at 1:00pm and 2:30pm and Sundays at 1:00pm (Levenson St., Abita Springs).  They also operate a brewpub (72011 Holly St., Abita Springs).
  • Heiner Brau Microbrewery and Museum  (226 Lockwood St., Covington).

Area Attractions-South Shore of Lake Ponchartrain (New Orleans):

  • There are many things to do in New Orleans.  We have just put a few highlights here, as most of our guests are staying on the north shore.  If you are looking for something in particular, please let us know or go to the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.
  • For the French Quarter, head to Bourbon Street in New Orleans.  You’ll find shopping, restaurants, beads, and bars. 
  • Grayline tours has dozens of tours throughout the city including the infamous Katrina Disaster tour.
